Dwight Lewis Strouse, Age:65

Dwight, 65, beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend to many, passed away the evening of Sunday, May 12, 2019. He grew up in Merriam, KS and as a young boy, his interests varied from Boy Scouts to motorcycles and fast cars. This interest in all things automotive ultimately grew into a love of the Indy 500 and Formula One racing. He attended Kansas State University, where he met the love of his life, Charlotte Maxine Sontag. Dwight and Charlotte married in 1977, then settled in the Dallas area, where they raised their two sons, Todd and Kyle. He held various sales positions and “stumbled” upon the medical waste industry, where he started and sold two different companies. After his final sale, he began investing in income producing real estate in Leonard, TX. Dwight was very active in Boy Scouts while his sons were growing up and served as their Cub and Scout Master. He was also a Master Mason and member of Hella Scottish Rite. Throughout the years the Strouse family had many road trips to visit loved ones in Kansas. This eventually developed into a love of travel throughout the United States, abroad and especially Mexico, where they enjoyed their condo in Playa Del Carmen. Rock and Roll was also a love of Dwight’s and he and Charlotte attended many a rock concert together. His spirit, jokes and love of life will be greatly missed. Dwight is survived by his wife, Charlotte of Fairview, TX; two sons and their spouses, Todd Lewis (Katherine) of Allen, TX and Kyle Alexander (Natalie) of Dallas, TX; his two beloved grandchildren, Nicholas Lewis and Scarlett Anne; mother, Marian Strouse of Lenexa, KS; sister, Claudia (Daryl) McVicker of Lenexa, KS; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Claude Lewis Strouse, and sister, Alexis Mary Lois Strouse. Services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Bentwood Trail Presbyterian Church, 6000 Bentwood Trail, Dallas, TX 75252. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dwight’s name can be made to TX Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, TX 75219.

I have so many fond memories of Dwight over the years as Scout Master, Texas A&M fan, and friend. Dwight was always there for his family and friends and no one could make me laugh harder. I never tired of his stories. He was the ultimate storyteller! He was also the most clever and resourceful person I ever knew. He will be dearly missed but I know he is making everyone in Heaven laugh till they cry. Rest in Peace Dwight.
