He made a living by working in the audio/visual and distance learning profession, but his passion was sailing. He loved being out on the water. He had a competitive spirit but more than that he wanted to share the sport with others. Anyone could always find a spot on his boat and he was happy to teach anyone who wanted to learn. He sailed on an Americas Cup boat in San Francisco but the highlight for him was being part of the crew on Medusa for a 2nd place finish in the Swiftsure race in Victoria BC 2 years ago.

There will be a celebration of life in Rowlett Texas, Sunday, September 16th at 1:00 PM at the Bayside Sailing Club and in East Peoria, IL on Saturday, September 29th at the East Port Banquet Center at 11:00 AM.

I want to send my hugs, and love to Bobs family and friends. He and I have been the best of friends, co-workers, and have had some of the best memories of my life. Bob and enjoyed family events, and just each other’s time always. He knew me like a book and has helped me through so much in my life as well as kept me smiling always. I love him and miss him dearly. It is worth a broken heart I have send this message. However as Bob would tell me we don’t live forever make the most of life. RIP my sweet friend. Prayers for the family.

Bob and I started at Region 10 the same year and enjoyed a warm friendship throughout the years. My husband and I enjoyed sailing with Bob and he was always available for help when needed. He enjoyed “babysitting” our 1800 Honda GoldWing and riding it whenever he was able. The memories he leaves with me enrich my life.

Bob was a generous, kind man with a teacher's heart. He was generous with his time and would help us out anytime for anything. He was always kind. He had a smile and was upbeat and enthusiastic about not only the current technology we had but the possibilities for what was just on the horizon. I know he now sailing around the world, wind in his face and just loving every minute of it. I hope for all the family there is some comfort knowing how beloved he was at Region 10. Hugs

Always a smile, always a willingness to provide assistance. He will be missed by all who new. The Commodores sang a song called: 'SAIL ON'. One stanza in the song says: Yes, I'll be on my way, I won't be back to stay, I guess I'll move along, I'm looking for a good time; Sail on down the line. Sail on Bob.

I started in video conferencing in 2001. Bob is always available to help us in the field and he was easy to work for. We always laughed and had fun while we worked together. He touched the lives of so many people in his work and when he sailed too. Our prayers are with his family.
